BenQ launches in Taiwan its new E55 3G mobile phone. The BenQ E55 is a clamshell with a 2-inch TFT LCD main display, a 1-inch CSTN LCD external display, a 2 Megapixel camera, a 0.3 Megapixel secondary camera for video calls.

The E55 is able to play MPEG4 / 3GP / H.263 videos and MP3/ AAC/ AAC+ audio formats. It supports Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP, and has 45MB built-in memory. There is also a microSD card slot for expansion. The phone measures 94 x 48x 19 mm and weighs 95g. It is priced at NT 6990 (US $230).
