Samsung will release its new VM-MX25E digital camcorder that offers YouTube-friendly recording mode. The Samsung VM-MX25E features a 680k pixel image sensor, 34x optical zoom Schneider lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

At the Photokina 2008, Hasselblad shows the world its H3DII-50 camera that has Kodak’s 50 Megapixel sensor, but it seems that’s not enough. According to Hasselblad CEO Christian Poulsen, his company is preparing the 60 Megpaixel H3DII-60 digital camera for April 2009 launch.

General Imaging (GE) introduces three new digital point-and-shoot cameras, the E1055W, E1050TW and A1030.

Samsung is going to show its HZ1 digital camera at the 1008 Photokina. Samsung HZ1 IS A 10.2 Megapixel camera with 24mm wide angle 10x optical zoom lens, optical and digital dual image stabilization, Face and Smile detection, and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

Pentax presents the new K2000 (aka K-m in Europe) digital SLR camera. The Pentax K2000 features a 10.2 Megapixel CCD sensor, ISO up to 3200, Shake Reduction system, Advanced Auto Picture mode and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

AgfaPhoto presents the new DC-1338sT touchscreen digital camera. AgfaPhoto DC-1338sT features a 10 Megapixel image sensor, 3x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom, a 3-inch touch display, ISO up to 3200, and integrated loud speakers.

The AgfaPhoto DC-1338sT offers Face and Smile detection and the YouTube-friendly video recording option. It will be released in October for 179 Euro.

Leica introduces the new S-System and the first camera of the S-System, the S2 professional DSLR. The Leica S2 features a 37 Megapixel 30×45mm image sensor, which is 56% larger than those used in 35mm full-frame DSLRs.

Sigma introduces the new DP2 compact digital SLR camera, replacing the DP1. The Sigma DP2 features a 14 Megapixel FOVEON X3 direct image sensor (2,652 × 1,768 × 3 layers), the TRUE II image processor, and a 24.2mm F2.8 lens (equivalent to 41mm on a 35mm SLR).

Other than the compact DP2, Sigma offers also the new SD15 DSLR camera. Like the DP2, the Sigma SD15 packs the 14 Megapixel FOVEON X3 direct image sensor, and the same True II image processor.

It comes with a 3-inch LCD display.

In addition to the D LUX 4 compact camera, Leica introduces als the C-LUX 3, a stylish camera based on Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FX37. As the successor of the C-LUX 2, Leica’s C-LUX 3 comes with a 10 Megapixel image sensor, a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 4.4-22 mm f/2.8-5.9 ASPH lens offering 5x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, Mega OIS image stabilizer, ISO up to 1600, and a 2.5-inch LCD display.
